‘Tis the season to be thankful, and at Our Urgent Care we have so many things that we are thankful for, but first and foremost we are thankful for the opportunity to diagnose and treat all of the patients who walk through our doors. While we love having the opportunity to help so many wonderful people, we love nothing more than when our patients are healthy and happy.

Here are some of our favorite reasons to be thankful!

  1. The Opportunity to Exercise!

The most recent guidelines from the CDC, suggest 2 hours and thirty minutes of exercise spread across the week. This means that is only 22 minutes per day will reap positive health benefits. Next time you want to hit the couch, be thankful that you have the chance to move your body and give yourself the reward of taking a step towards a healthier you.

  1. The Opportunity to Eat more Fruits and Veggies!

Eating well is an essential way to promote long term health. It is now easier than ever with all of the healthy options out there. We love the idea of eating fruits and veggies from the colors of the rainbow and we encourage you to give something new a try this season! Check out this link to some yummy new twists to add to your Thanksgiving table. When you head out to grab a bite, go green, or red, or yellow,  and make a choice which will lead to a healthier tomorrow.

  1. The Chance to Get Outside and Enjoy Nature!

In the greater Saint Louis Area there are thousands of acres of parks. From the quant urban parks like Tower Grove, to majestic Forest Park, or the wilds of Babler, we have it all. We are beyond thankful that getting out in nature is just a short walk or are ride away. We encourage all of our patients to spend some time (or a lot of time) in the fresh air. It does the mind and body good.

  1. The Opportunity to Give Back!

Giving back to the community is easy in the Saint Louis area. There are numerous studies that show that not only does giving back to the community help others, but it boosts your mood and has a positive effect on your health! It also provides you a chance to get out and meet new people and make connections, which also is a fantastic way to assure a healthier and happier you! Check-out this comprehensive list of charities in our area that you can connect with and make a difference for ALL!

As we head into some of the craziest months of the year, let’s take a moment to be thankful for all the things which can assure a happy and healthy holiday season and even better, a happier and healthier 2019. And, if for some reason, you find yourself in need of a little help to get back to healthy, Our Urgent Care is here to take care of all of your needs.
